Dr. Mel Goldstein is well known in Connecticut for his charming demeanor and on-the-nose weather forecasts, heard each day on WQUN.

Dr. Mel also created Western Connecticut State University's Weather Center, as well as its Bachelor's degree program in meteorology, the first and only one in the state.

He is aso the author of "The Complete Idiot's Guide To Weather," and donates the profits to cancer research. Dr. Mel is a cancer survivor.
