HS 111H - Honors The Rise of the West
 
(3 cr.) Beginning with the origins of Western civilizations in the ancient Near East, students examine the development of Western culture and society from its beginnings through the 16th century, with emphasis on the nature and values of three successive polities: the classical world of Greece and Rome, the Middle Ages, and the origins of the modern world in the Renaissance/Reformation. Consideration is given to the idea of the West and its interaction with and contact with non-Western cultures and peoples. As Needed
