|(3 cr.) This Immunology course involves the topics of
vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs).
Students examine and discuss the current
understanding of vaccinations, as well as the
historical and current implication of VPDs. By
the end of the semester, the student should
how vaccines work, how they are made, who
recommends vaccines, when they should be given,
if they are still necessary, and most
importantly, if they are safe. Students may only
take one BMS 378, HSC 378 or BMS 525 for credit.
