Dec. 20, 2012 - Physician assistant students collected, wrapped and distributed more than 300 toys to patients of the Outpatient Clinic and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus, in New Haven on Dec. 14. Toys were provided to more than 150 families with children ranging in age from infant to adolescent.

In addition, each child was read to and given a new book as part of the physician assistant's health literacy program.

Physician assistant students, dressed as oral health elves, met with children and parents to give guidance and counseling on brushing, flossing and general oral health care.  They also passed out oral health kits with toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and educational material. This was the sixth year the physician assistant students at Quinnipiac have organized the toy drive.
