Panel discussion on the Emancipation Proclamation Feb. 18
Feb. 16 - The Albert Schweitzer Institute will host a panel discussion about the 150 year anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, on Monday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Buckman Theater on the Mount Carmel Campus.
Panelists will discuss the question, "What is the meaning behind the Emancipation Proclamation?" Marilyn Ford, professor of law, will lead the panel discussion, featuring:
- James Rawlings - community expert on Civil Rights and the president of the New Haven NAACP
- Reverend Robert Perry - former president of the Connecticut Convention of Baptist Churches
- Bill Dunlap - professor, legal expert and historian on the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th amendment
The event is free and open to the public.
