Dear parents and family members,

Happy May and congratulations to all of the recent graduates! We just concluded a tremendously successful Commencement weekend at Quinnipiac

We offered six ceremonies, including law and medical at the M&T Bank Arena. The days were filled with joy and celebrations for the Class of 2023.

It has also been a very high-spirited year on our campuses, from all of the MAAC Championships of many teams and community service had yet another terrific year giving back to the Greater Hamden community and beyond. QTHON raised more than $100,000, Be Kind Leave your Food Behind celebrated its 15th year of collecting left over food and goods filling more than 170 bins for food shelters in the area and Tap Out Hunger (a donation of unused dining hall food points) collected another $25,000, and of course, our annual Big Event (day of service) had more than 850 students volunteer in April.

It is truly a reflection of the commitment Quinnipiac students have to assist our most vulnerable populations in our communities.

We are excited to welcome our first-year and transfer students to Orientation in a few weeks. Should you know of any new families joining Quinnipiac, please reach out and welcome them to the Bobcat family. One of the groups I am most grateful for are the 14 parents who volunteered to be members of the Parent’s Advisory Board. Their dedication and valuable insights have been influential in guiding me through some of the challenges our students face. THANK YOU to the group!

As we enter this time of the year for some rest and relaxation, I wish all of you health and sustained wellness.

As always, if you have any feedback or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at cxo@qu.edu.

Housing and Residential Life Updates

Thank you to all our current students who officially checked out using the online form these past few weeks. We hope that final exams went well and that you were able to move out smoothly. Wherever you will be this summer, we hope you will be healthy and productive in all your endeavors.

It’s early, we know, to begin thinking about the fall, but please save the date for move-in next August. We look forward to seeing everyone who will be returning to us in Quinnipiac housing. We would also like to encourage your student to sign up for the Move-In Crew. The application is on MyHousing, and we would really enjoy having their help in welcoming our newest Bobcats to campus in August. This event is a lot of fun and the new students and their families are always so grateful.

We are also excited to meet all of you who have incoming new first-year and transfer students. June Orientations are coming soon, and there will be plenty of time to exchange information and get to know you. As a reminder, housing contracts and roommate requests for new students are due on May 26. The deadline for new international students to sign their housing contracts is June 8.

The Office of Community Engagement recently concluded its annual initiative, Tap Out Hunger, raising $25,382 worth of food to donate to the area non-profits Hamden Food Bank and Columbus House to stock their food pantries and soup kitchens.
