School of Health Sciences welcomes new associate dean

Quinnipiac announces Anita Lee as the new associate dean of the School of Health Sciences with an extensive background in education and will bring forward a pathway of innovation in her new role.

Anita Lee has been appointed associate dean of academic and faculty affairs and professor of health science studies in the School of Health Sciences at Quinnipiac University.

“I am delighted that Anita – with her broad and deep expertise and experience – is joining the leadership team in the School of Health Sciences,” said Janelle Chiasera, dean of the School of Health Sciences. “Anita’s qualifications and experience align perfectly with our strategic priorities. I look forward to working alongside her as we shape a bright future for the school.”

In her new role, Lee will be responsible for developing and supporting the School of Health Sciences faculty, promoting academic excellence and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. She will work closely with department chairs, program directors and faculty on projects related to academic programming and faculty affairs.

“The academic programs in the School of Health Sciences at Quinnipiac have an outstanding reputation,” said Lee. “I am honored and humbled to join the school’s leadership team and have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty and staff to train highly competent and well-educated students for jobs in healthcare and social work.”

Lee comes to Quinnipiac from Eastern Connecticut State University, where she served as professor, founding faculty and acting chair of the Department of Health Sciences. She previously served as special assistant to the dean of the School of Education and professional studies and graduate division, where she supported students, faculty and academic affairs.

At Eastern Connecticut State University, she co-created the student excellence and persistence system to support students, who were academically at risk to increase their retention and degree completion rates, and served as the university’s transfer articulation pathway representative. In addition to being a peer evaluator for the New England Commission of Higher Education, Lee was appointed to facilitate the Association of College and University Educators course for faculty to enhance pedagogical skills.
