The Grove

The new 417-bed residence hall is located in the South Quad and is purposefully designed to promote extracurricular opportunities for students and enrich the living-learning experience. The design includes group gathering spaces, lounges and an outdoor courtyard to help build community while also advancing career readiness and emotional wellbeing. The air-conditioned residence hall will include single and double bedrooms.

Opening during the 2024-25 academic year

About 300 first-year students, about 100 sophomores, juniors and seniors, and 17 resident assistants will live in the building along with a residence hall director and faculty fellow.

It is designed to offer an enriching community experience for those who want to be surrounded by an inspiring environment ripe for self-discovery, exploration and growth focusing on personal, interpersonal and civic engagement skills.

The living experience will emphasize positive local community connections. Sophomores, juniors and seniors living in The Grove will focus in on a "big idea," which will provide a foundation to give back and problem-solve an issue with the local community and Quinnipiac and then collaborate with the first-year students to address challenges and accomplish their collective goals. Students will embark on this year-long project working with faculty and student mentors to develop their big idea.

As a group of students, they will make real-world connections to the community to advance their understanding and their thinking about their idea of interest. Residents will also participate in a first-year seminar course to tie their big idea with their academic journey.

In addition, from native plants and trees to rain gardens, water-runoff prevention measures and lighting designed to minimize light pollution, The Grove stands as a symbol of Quinnipiac’s environmentally consciousness initiatives.
